Miami, Florida – LSN Partners, a full-service national government affairs and strategic business development firm, is pleased to announce that former State Representative Marcelo Llorente has joined the firm as an equity partner.

 

Mr. Llorente will focus on providing his expertise in strategic planning and communications to LSN’s clients, concentrating on private sector business development. “With almost a decade of experience serving Floridians as a public servant, Marcelo has the knowledge and ability to assist LSN clients,” said Alex Heckler, LSN Founder and Managing Partner (Miami Beach office).

Before joining LSN, Mr. Llorente practiced public finance, employment defense, and governmental law at Bryant Miller Olive for ten years. In 2002, Mr. Llorente was elected to the Florida House of Representatives to represent the 116th District and was subsequently reelected in 2004, 2006, and 2008. During his near-decade of service in the Florida House, Mr. Llorente passed landmark legislation and held positions including Chairman of the Full Appropriations Council on General Government and Health Care where he oversaw more than $30 billion of the State of Florida's annual budget. He also served as Vice-Chairman of the Joint Legislative Budget Commission, Chairman of the Policy Council, and Chairman of the Committee on Constitution and Civil Law.

 

In 2008, Senator John McCain selected Mr. Llorente as a Florida Delegate to the Republican National Convention in Minnesota and as an Honorary Vice-Chairman of the 2008 Republican Platform Committee. Mr. Llorente is currently a member of the Cuban American Bar Association and the Florida Bar's Section on Local Government. He is also a graduate of Leadership Florida (Class XXVII).

 

Born and raised in Miami-Dade County, Mr. Llorente graduated from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management from Tulane University in New Orleans, where he was also a four-year letterman in baseball. He received his juris doctorate from The Florida State University College of Law.
